FusionWidgets XT (previously FusionGadgets & FusionCharts Instrumentation Suite) is a collection of real-time gauges and charts for use in dynamic web applications. It is a part of FusionCharts Suite, but works independently of other products in the suite.
FusionWidgets XT leverages JavaScript (HTML5) and Flash to create compact, interactive and visually-arresting gauges and charts. As it works with both XML and JSON data, it can be integrated with any server-side technology (ASP, ASP.NET, PHP, JSP, ColdFusion and Ruby on Rails etc.) and database. With FusionWidgets, you get a wide variety of gauges and charts including dial gauges, linear gauges, Gantt charts, funnel charts, sparklines and data-streaming column, line and area charts. You can integrate these controls with any web technology and database, and the implementation is a breeze.

In traditional image based visualization systems, the gauges and charts are generated as images at server-side. So, for each gauge or chart, which you need to serve to a user, you'll have to build complex images on the server and then stream it to the client. When the need of hour is high, this can be an expensive resource on the server, as image creation takes a toll on the server. At this juncture, FusionWidgets brings you great relief - all the gauges and charts are rendered at client-side using JavaScript or the widely installed Adobe Flash Platform. The server is just responsible for streaming the pre-built SWF/JS files and your XML/JSON data to the end viewers. From there on, JavaScript or Flash Player takes the onus of rendering the gauges and charts. Also, the chart SWF/JS files can be cached so that you can just update the data, and not send chart SWF/JS files every time. |

While charts are generated using Flash, they can be exported to JPG, PNG or PDF. The data can also be copied from the chart as CSV. This can be done either through user interaction or programmatically. |
